Anti-Aging Exercise

We all know it’s a good thing to go to the gym or go on a walk, but most of us do it because we want to look good in a bikini. Most of us don’t consider the benefits exercise has on our long-term health and how having a daily exercise regimen could help us live longer, more vigorous lives.

There are many outwards signs of aging, but among the most common are wrinkles, weight gain, and saggy skin. There is no amount of make-up or tanning solution you can use to hide your skin – it reveals all! The best way to take care of it and keep it healthy is to drink plenty of water, exercise regularly, minimize your exposure to the sun, and eat a clean diet. Exercise is essential to healthy skin because it helps move vitamins and oxygen through your body.

As you age, you lose muscle mass and gain fat. Exercising can help maintain lean body mass, keep your metabolism high, and your weight steady. Muscles burn more calories than fat, so the more muscle you have on your body the easier it will be to maintain body fat as you age. Weight lifting is also correlated with increased bone density, an issue we all will deal with as we age.

Exercise improves your mood and overall quality of life, lowering your cortisol. The more positive your outlook on life, the better overall state of being will be. Exercise has shown that it can help alleviate symptoms of depression and anxiety as well. Exercise is also good for your heart. It helps with blood circulation and cardiovascular fitness.

At the end of the day, our cellular health is more important than what we look like on the outside. Next time you think about skipping the gym, think again! Your future self will thank you.
