How Brianne Davis Is Ruling In A Man’s World

The movie actress is directing TV series Six. Here’s how she’s ruling in a man’s world

Fitness is life

For me, training is a lifestyle, so I workout six to seven days a week no matter what. I love running, Pilates, yoga and also like to hit the weights. My all- time favorite is T25 by Shaun T. It’s such a great full-body workout and you can pop in the DVD anywhere, which is especially helpful while I’m on location.

Tough gigs

My most difficult physical role I have played on-screen was on NBC’s Heartbeat, where I had to train like a roller derby skater. I spent four to five hours a day in the roller rink with a trainer learning how to be aggressive. It’s the best leg workout I have ever gotten.

Food matter

I start my day with bulletproof co ee with butter – it keeps me full and burning fat as soon as I get up. I like avocado toast or my Glowing Green Smoothie by Kimberly Snyder in the morning. I make it the night before and drink it every morning. Normally I try to stay away from any processed foods, sugars and breads, but I do eat Ezekiel 4:9 sprouted bread.

Fighting age

As you age, it gets harder to keep your muscle mass and leanness. I would suggest starting anywhere, maybe running or even walking and doing squats in front of your favorite television show. Get moving, set a routine, and you will see a difference.

Favorite moves

My favorite exercise is ballet squats and tricep dips using a chair because you can literally do them anywhere you are. I love a good plank hold – they just work every part of your body. I don’t mind burpees but I hate burpee push-ups.

Advice to others

Love yourself no matter where you’re at in your journey. You only have one body during this lifetime and we should honour our bodies. This also means being kind and gentle with yourself, especially if you have a bad day. We all have them – it’s human nature. Anything you can do to develop as a better person and give back to society I think is what matters most.
